Her research interests include contemporary urban policies in India , slum studies, urban gerontology, gender issues in urban areas and urban place making. Currently she is working on the role of urban planning in making cities more inclusive, for all sections of society. Another significant focus of her research is to examine the cultural aspects of man- nature relation and to study its contribution in conservation of endangered ecosystems.
